Home School Community Liaison

The Home School Community Liason scheme for Trinity Comprehensive School is based on a strong partnership and respect between the home, school and the wider Ballymun community. It is inclusive of everyone in the school community and works to deliver the best educational experience and outcomes  possible for all pupils and their families. We recognise the parents as the most important educators of their own children. Remember children only spend 15% of their time in school.

The Home School Community Liaison Coordinatior is available to support parents and guardians and help your child get the most out of school

The HSCLO can call to you at your home or arrange a time for you to call to the school to see how best the school can support you as a parent/guardian. If you ever have any concerns or issues regarding your child please let us know. If we do not have all the answers we can at lease point you in the right direction of where you will find them

The HSCLO encourages all parents and guardians to become involved in a variety of school activities throughout the  year

Courses such as cookery, creative writing, home budgeting, relaxation, arts and crafts, keep fit and literacy are  organised during the school day and in the evening. We also have speakers  organised on a variety of  issues during the year.  Visits are also organised to places of interest .These provide a great way to learn new skills, learn new things  and meet and find support from other parents.

The parents room in the school is always available for parents who wish to drop in and have a cup of coffee and a chat. Computers and printers are available at all times for parents use. There is also reading books available and information packs on a wide range of services.

Our ‘Parents Voice’ group meets twice a term. This is a chance for all parents to discuss any issues or concerns they have regarding the school and also to allow us to hear the parents voice in relation to moving the school forward and making it the best possible school for your child.

We in particular welcome our 1ST year parents to join us for coffee/tea every Monday from 9.30 am to 10.30 am.  It is an opportunity to get to know other parents and become familiar with the school.

You are also welcome to join the Parent’s Group which meet every Thursday from 11 – 12.30 in the parents room.

Our parents Pollytunnel  and garden started last year. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to grow their own vegetables and fruit.  Individual plots outside are available to families and there is also spaces inside the tunnel. Times are arranged during the school day and evenings to meet and support each other.

Trinity Comprehensive works  closely with all the primary schools and community agencies within Ballymun to offer you the best support possible.

We are all in this together and Trinity Comprehensive HSCLO is here to support you  in any way we can. No problem or concern is ever too big or too small. You are always welcome.

Please feel free to contact our HSCLO co ordinator.
